WorldTech IT is excited to announce our Women In Cybersecurity scholarship!
WorldTech IT’s Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship strives to foster opportunities for women in the cybersecurity field. Women make up approximately 20% of the cybersecurity workforce worldwide, leaving much room for improvement. By encouraging women to a career in cybersecurity, we are able to fill staffing gaps and open the doors to new talent and new perspectives. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to 2 students, with the intent of helping them gain real-world experience in the field and pave the way to success.
Cybersecurity Challenge
WorldTech IT has a cybersecurity challenge for you! This project will give applicants the opportunity to solve a problem using the Go Programming Language.

Award
Awards Available: 2 – Summer: $2,000 – Fall: $4,000
Scholars will receive funding for school and education-related expenses.

Scholarship Requirements
To apply, students must meet ALL of the following requirements: |
✔ A US citizen, national, or permanent resident |
✔ A female student in their junior or senior year of college |
✔ Pursuing a career in cybersecurity or a related field |
✔ In good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) |
Cybersecurity Challenge
Create an HTTPS Security Test
This challenge is meant to test your ability to use the golang standard library to perform and profile an HTTPS connection.
Objectives:
- Connection profiles – capture the DNS lookup, TCP connection, TLS handshake, Server Processing and Content transfer timing.
- TLS Information – Certificate details, Identify the correct bundle, identify supported cipher suites

Challenge Submission:
- Submit a link to a git repository so we can download and test your golang code. Must be a link to a public git repository, such as Github, Gitlab, BitBucket, etc. The golang code should successfully complete all objectives for all nine URLs.
