CISA’s Emergency Directive 26-01 (October 2025) called out end-of-support F5 devices, including iSeries and rSeries, as needing to come offline. Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know.

iSeries Recommendations

If you’re currently using iSeries appliances, it’s time to start planning your move to the enhanced rSeries or explore our Virtual Editions for better performance and future-ready features. Mark these dates on your calendar:

• End of New Software Support (EoNSS): Already passed (January 1, 2026)
• End of Software Support (EoSS): January 1, 2027
• End of Life: January 1, 2031
  

Viprion Recommendations

For those on the Viprion 2xxx series hardware, consider transitioning to our VELOS platform. This will give you improved density, performance, and reduced management complexity. Important dates to note:

• End of Sale: Already passed (April 1, 2023)
• End of New Software Support (EoNSS): Already passed (April 1, 2025)

BIG-IP Recommendations

If you’re using BIG-IP versions 15.1 or 16.1, it’s time to upgrade. BIG-IP 17.5 is now the current long-term release for iSeries and VIPRION hardware, so that’s your target — not 17.1. Here are the key dates:

• End of Life for Version 15.1: Already passed (December 31, 2024)
